1. AGREEMENT TO TERMS
Welcome to Wasaal! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”, “Terms of Service”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) and Wasaal (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Wasaal mobile application (the “App” or “Service”).
BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE APP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE APP.
2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
2.1 Binding Agreement
By creating an account or using Wasaal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by:
- These Terms and Conditions
- Our Privacy Policy
- Our Community Guidelines
- Any additional guidelines or rules posted in the App
2.2 Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting updated Terms in the App
- Displaying an in-app notification
- Updating the “Last Updated” date
Your continued use of Wasaal after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2.3 Additional Terms
Certain features of the App may be subject to additional terms and conditions, which will be presented to you when you access those features.
3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the European Economic Area) to use Wasaal.
If you are under 18 years old, you represent that:
- You have obtained consent from your parent or legal guardian
- Your parent or guardian has read and agreed to these Terms
3.2 Geographic Restrictions
Wasaal is currently designed for users in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). While we do not restrict access by geography, location-based features are optimized for UAE neighborhoods.
3.3 Account Capacity
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. By using Wasaal, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
3.4 Prohibited Users
You may not use Wasaal if:
- You are prohibited from receiving services under UAE law or other applicable laws
- You have been previously banned or suspended from Wasaal
- Your account was terminated for violation of these Terms
4. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION AND SECURITY
4.1 Account Creation
To use Wasaal, you must create an account by:
- Signing in with Google
- Signing in with Apple
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
4.2 Account Information
You must provide:
- Valid email address
- Display name
- Location (Emirate, City, Neighborhood)
Optional information:
- Profile photo
4.3 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.
4.4 One Account Per Person
You may only create and maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination of all accounts.
4.5 Account Transfer
You may not transfer, sell, or give your account to another person without our written permission.
5. USER CONTENT
5.1 Content You Post
Wasaal allows you to create and share content, including:
- Posts (text and images)
- Comments
- Profile information
- Marketplace listings
You retain ownership of the content you create (“User Content”).
5.2 License Grant
By posting User Content on Wasaal, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:
- Use, reproduce, and display your User Content
- Store your User Content on our servers
- Display your User Content to other users in your neighborhood
- Modify or adapt your User Content for technical purposes (e.g., formatting, compression)
This license continues until you delete your content or account.
5.3 Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- All User Content you post
- Ensuring you have the right to post the content
- Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Any consequences of posting User Content
5.4 Content Ownership
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content
- Your content does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
- You have obtained all necessary permissions for photos of other people
- Your content complies with these Terms
5.5 No Obligation to Monitor
We are not obligated to monitor User Content, but we reserve the right to:
- Review any User Content
- Remove or refuse to display User Content
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
5.6 Content Visibility
User Content you post is visible to:
- All Wasaal users in your specific neighborhood (same Emirate, City, and Neighborhood)
- Users who view your profile
5.7 Content Retention
We retain your User Content for as long as your account is active. When you delete:
- A post: It is immediately removed from the App
- Your account: All your content is permanently deleted within 30 days
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
6. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
6.1 General Prohibitions
You agree NOT to:
Illegal Activities:
- ❌ Use Wasaal for any illegal purpose
- ❌ Violate any local, national, or international law
- ❌ Promote or facilitate illegal activities
Harmful Content:
- ❌ Post content that is hateful, threatening, or discriminatory
- ❌ Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- ❌ Post violent, graphic, or disturbing content
- ❌ Share sexually explicit content or child exploitation material
- ❌ Promote self-harm or suicide
Spam and Scams:
- ❌ Post spam, advertisements, or promotional content without permission
- ❌ Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices
- ❌ Operate pyramid schemes or multi-level marketing
- ❌ Phish for personal information
Intellectual Property:
- ❌ Post content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other IP rights
- ❌ Impersonate any person or entity
- ❌ Use another person’s identity or photos without permission
Platform Abuse:
- ❌ Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Wasaal systems
- ❌ Interfere with or disrupt the App’s operation
- ❌ Use bots, scripts, or automation tools
- ❌ Scrape or collect data from Wasaal without permission
- ❌ Reverse engineer or decompile the App
- ❌ Circumvent security measures
Misinformation:
- ❌ Post deliberately false or misleading information
- ❌ Impersonate government officials or organizations
- ❌ Spread health misinformation that could cause harm
6.2 Marketplace-Specific Rules
When using marketplace features, you agree NOT to:
- ❌ Sell illegal items or services
- ❌ Sell counterfeit or stolen goods
- ❌ Misrepresent items or prices
- ❌ Fail to deliver sold items
- ❌ Sell weapons, drugs, or regulated substances
- ❌ Sell items that violate UAE regulations
6.3 Reporting Violations
If you see content or behavior that violates these Terms:
- Use the “Report” feature in the App
- Provide specific details about the violation
- Do not engage with or retaliate against the violator
We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS
7.1 Wasaal’s Ownership
All intellectual property rights in Wasaal, including but not limited to:
- The App and its design
- Wasaal logo and branding
- Source code and software
- Features and functionality
- Documentation and content created by us
are owned by or licensed to Wasaal. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our intellectual property except as necessary to use the App.
7.2 Trademarks
“Wasaal” and associated logos are trademarks. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission.
7.3 Copyright
All content on Wasaal is protected by copyright law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.
7.4 DMCA Compliance
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed:

7.5 Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notification with the same information plus a statement that the content was removed by mistake.
8. COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
8.1 Be Respectful
- Treat others with kindness and respect
- Engage in constructive dialogue
- Respect different opinions and perspectives
- Use appropriate language
8.2 Be Authentic
- Use your real name or a consistent identity
- Do not impersonate others
- Provide accurate information in marketplace listings
- Be honest in your interactions
8.3 Be Safe
- Protect your personal information
- Do not share sensitive information publicly (phone numbers, addresses)
- Meet in public places for marketplace transactions
- Report suspicious activity
8.4 Contribute Positively
- Share helpful, relevant content
- Support your neighbors
- Welcome new community members
- Help create a positive environment
8.5 Follow Local Laws
- Comply with UAE laws and regulations
- Respect local customs and culture
- Do not use Wasaal for illegal activities
9. CONTENT MODERATION
9.1 Our Rights
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to:
- Monitor User Content
- Remove or refuse to post any User Content
- Edit or modify User Content for technical reasons
- Investigate reported violations
- Take action against violating accounts
9.2 Enforcement Actions
Violations may result in:
- Warning
- Content removal
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent account termination
- Legal action (in severe cases)
9.3 Appeals
If your content is removed or account is suspended:
- You will receive a notification explaining the reason
- You may appeal by contacting [support@wasaalapp.com]
- We will review your appeal within 7-14 business days
- Our decision is final
9.4 No Liability for Content
We are not responsible for:
- User Content posted by others
- Accuracy of information in posts
- Transactions between users (marketplace)
- Disputes between community members
10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
10.1 Authentication Providers
Wasaal uses third-party authentication:
- Google Sign-In (governed by Google’s Terms of Service)
- Sign in with Apple (governed by Apple’s Terms of Service)
Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.
10.2 Firebase Services
We use Google Firebase for:
- Database (Firestore)
- File storage
- Push notifications
- Analytics
Firebase’s use of your data is governed by:
- Firebase Terms of Service
- Google Privacy Policy
10.3 No Endorsement
We do not endorse any third-party services, websites, or products linked from Wasaal. Use at your own risk.
11. DISCLAIMERS
11.1 “AS IS” Service
WASAAL IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or completeness of content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
11.2 No Guarantee of Availability
We do not guarantee that:
- Wasaal will always be available or accessible
- The App will be free from errors, bugs, or viruses
- Content will be accurate or reliable
- Defects will be corrected
- The App will meet your requirements
11.3 User Interactions
We are not responsible for:
- Interactions between users
- Offline meetings or transactions
- Disputes arising from marketplace sales
- Accuracy of user-posted information
- Safety of in-person meetings
11.4 Content Accuracy
We do not verify, endorse, or guarantee:
- Accuracy of User Content
- Reliability of information in posts
- Authenticity of marketplace listings
- Identity of users
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING INFORMATION AND EXERCISING CAUTION IN YOUR INTERACTIONS.
11.5 Local Information
Wasaal provides neighborhood-based content. We are not responsible for:
- Accuracy of local events or announcements
- Completeness of community information
- Verification of neighborhood-specific content
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
12.1 Exclusion of Damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WASAAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Loss of business opportunities
- Personal injury or property damage
- Emotional distress
ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO:
- Your use of or inability to use Wasaal
- User Content or conduct of other users
- Unauthorized access to your account
- Errors, bugs, or interruptions in service
- Any transaction or dispute between users
12.2 Maximum Liability
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO WASAAL SHALL NOT EXCEED:
- The amount you paid us in the past 12 months, OR
- $100 USD (whichever is greater)
12.3 Essential Terms
The limitations in this section are fundamental elements of the agreement between you and Wasaal. Wasaal would not provide the service without these limitations.
12.4 Exceptions
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. If you reside in such a jurisdiction, some limitations may not apply to you.
13. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Wasaal and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all:
- Claims
- Damages
- Losses
- Liabilities
- Costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees)
Arising from or relating to:
- Your use of Wasaal
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
- Your violation of applicable laws or regulations
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of your account and these Terms.
14. TERMINATION
14.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Opening the Wasaal App
- Going to Profile → Settings
- Selecting “Delete Account”
- Confirming deletion
Your account and all data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
14.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- You violate Community Guidelines
- You engage in prohibited conduct
- We receive legal requests or court orders
- We discontinue the service
- We believe your account poses a security risk
14.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use Wasaal immediately ceases
- Your User Content will be deleted
- You may not create a new account without permission
- Sections that should survive termination remain in effect
14.4 Survival
The following sections survive termination:
- User Content (licenses granted)
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Disclaimers
- Limitation of Liability
- Indemnification
- Dispute Resolution
- Governing Law
14.5 No Refunds
As Wasaal is a free service, no refunds are applicable upon termination.
15. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
15.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to:

- Provide a detailed description of the dispute
- Allow us 30 days to attempt resolution
We will work in good faith to resolve disputes informally.
15.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, you agree that:
Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except:
- Small claims court disputes (under applicable limits)
- Intellectual property disputes
- Claims seeking injunctive relief
Arbitration Rules:

You waive any right to:
- Participate in a class action lawsuit
- Join in a class arbitration
- Bring claims on behalf of others
Each party may bring claims only in their individual capacity.
15.4 Exceptions to Arbitration
Either party may bring a lawsuit in court:
- For injunctive relief to protect intellectual property
- For small claims within jurisdictional limits
- To enforce an arbitration award
15.5 Jury Trial Waiver
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AND WASAAL WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL.
16. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.2 Jurisdiction
For disputes not subject to arbitration, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
16.3 International Users
If you access Wasaal from outside the UAE, you are responsible for compliance with local laws.
17. MISCELLANEOUS
17.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Wasaal regarding use of the App.
17.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
17.3 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
17.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms to any successor or affiliate.
17.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- War or terrorism
- Government actions
- Internet or telecommunications failures
- Strikes or labor disputes
17.6 Notices
Notices to You: We may provide notices to you by:

- Posting on the App

17.7 Language
These Terms are written in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only. In case of conflict, the English version prevails.

No agency, partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship is created between you and Wasaal by these Terms.

These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights except as explicitly stated.
18. SPECIAL PROVISIONS
18.1 For UAE Users
Additional terms for users in the UAE:
- All transactions must comply with UAE Federal Law
- Content must respect UAE cultural values and norms
- Prohibited content includes material offensive to UAE public morals
- Marketplace transactions must comply with UAE consumer protection laws
18.2 For EU Users
Additional rights for EU/EEA users:
- Right to withdraw within 14 days (not applicable as Wasaal is free)
- Right to data portability under GDPR
- Right to lodge complaints with supervisory authorities
- Consumer rights under EU Directive 2011/83/EU
18.3 For California Users
California residents have additional rights under California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to delete personal information
- Right to opt-out of sale of personal information (we don’t sell data)
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights
19. MARKETPLACE TERMS
19.1 Marketplace Nature
Wasaal provides a platform for users to list items. We are NOT:
- A party to any transaction
- Responsible for quality, safety, or legality of items
- Responsible for accuracy of listings
- Acting as a broker or intermediary
19.2 Seller Responsibilities
If you sell items, you agree to:
- Provide accurate descriptions and photos
- Set fair and honest prices
- Deliver items as described
- Comply with all applicable laws
- Not sell prohibited items
19.3 Buyer Responsibilities
If you buy items, you agree to:
- Inspect items before purchasing
- Meet sellers in safe, public locations
- Pay agreed-upon prices
- Exercise caution and good judgment
19.4 Prohibited Items
You may NOT sell:
- Illegal drugs or substances
- Weapons or explosives
- Stolen goods
- Counterfeit items
- Items requiring special licenses (without proper documentation)
- Alcohol or tobacco (to minors)
- Prescription medications
- Endangered species or their products
- Hazardous materials
19.5 Transaction Disputes
Disputes between buyers and sellers are solely between those parties. Wasaal:
- Will not mediate disputes
- Is not responsible for failed transactions
- Cannot force refunds or returns
- May suspend accounts involved in repeated disputes
19.6 Safety Tips

✅ Report suspicious behavior
20. FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS
20.1 Voluntary Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Wasaal (“Feedback”), you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate Feedback without compensation or attribution.
20.2 No Obligation
We have no obligation to:
- Use your Feedback
- Keep Feedback confidential
- Compensate you for Feedback
21. BETA FEATURES
21.1 Experimental Features
Wasaal may include beta, pilot, or experimental features. These features:
- May not work as intended
- May change or be discontinued without notice
- Are provided “as is” with no warranties
- May have separate terms
21.2 Feedback on Beta Features
By using beta features, you agree to provide feedback and report bugs. This helps us improve Wasaal.
